I’m still pretty amazed at how well The Dark Knight is doing considering how lengthy the movie is. The movie passed the $300 million dollar domestic gross (U.S. only) mark over the weekend meaning that it set a new record for fastest movie to $300 million dollars. The movie accomplished this in only ten days while it took Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest 16 days to do the same thing.
I’m now beginning to wonder how far The Dark Knight will go in terms of box office grosses, but it already passed up Iron Man as the best selling release of the year so far. Hitting $400 million should be pretty easy, I just wonder if it can actually get over $500 million domestically. With grosses like this though, it is pretty much assured that Warner Brothers will be clamoring for the next movie to be made as soon as possible.
