Sometimes i’m really glad that I have nearly perfect vision un-assisted, since having surgery on my eyes is not something that I would ever look forward to.
That being said, if I did have to have surgery LASIK would be the way to go since it is virtually painless and could result in an excellent improvement in vision. You can get LASIK information from many sources, but The Lasik Facts gives you a wide variety of news articles about LASIK treatment as well as providing helpful tips and facts about the procedure. Given that most people can expect 20/20 or better vision, it seems like a no-brainer to check it out.
I actually had a college professor who had LASIK done and he used to rely on a fairly heavy prescription but afterward he had 20/15 vision and never needed glasses again! They can even do adjustments as needed to improve the end result.
Another neat thing about LASIK is that less than 1% of cases have any sort of complications and those are usually minor such as dry eyes, halo or double vision and can be easily remedied. Most elective surgeries have much higher complication rates than procedures like LASIK.
Worldwide, over 95% of all LASIK patients are satisfied with the results of the eye procedure. If you have reasonable expectations going in and aren’t one of the 20-25% of people who don’t qualify, i’d look into LASIK right away to “cure” your vision woes!
