Alzheimer’s Memory Walk coming Up!

July 29th, 2008 · No Comments

The Alzheimer’s Memory Walk happens every year, and every year it is a great opportunity for regular folks like you and me to get involved in helping to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease while also supporting the care of those suffering from Alzheimer’s.

The memory walk is great because there is almost always one to be found in your local area and the times vary all throughout the year.  Each group sets up their own walk and the length and people can sign-up to participate while other people sponsor the walkers.  The memory walk has raised over $225 million dollars since 1989, so we to continue adding to that total by being team captains, walkers, or supporting those who do!

According to a research study published in July of 2007 it is estimated that almost 27 million people suffere from Alzheimer’s disease worldwide and that number is expected to rise dramatically over the next few decades.  Many of us have family who suffer from the disease or know someone who does.  Alzheimer’s is not that far from home.
