Entrecard’s Back, Theme, Travel

Ok, so that was a short vacation from Entrecard that I took. Graham has been making tons of neat changes to the service that have really gotten my interest back up in it. As he pointed out in his comment when I left, if I don’t want to drop I can just leave the widget there and enjoy the passive traffic and credits from advertising etc. Also, the upcoming changes to allow you to gain credits just from doing your normal blogging and the stopping of quick dropping schemes has also renewed my interest in the service.

What I will NOT be returning to is trying to do 300 drops a day. In fact, I am pretty much only going to hit the drop button if I just happen to be on a site that has Entrecard. I will still try to spend credits on advertising as I earn them or maybe on some of the other useful services i’ve enjoyed such as free graphic design services (paid for with ECs).

Another thing I had mentioned was the widget causing some slow-downs in page load speeds but most of that was worked out a while back by upgrading to a new server at Entrecard. Also, the Amazon associates sidebar was actually resulting in worse page loads so I removed it a couple of weeks ago.

In reference to the Theme, i’m liking this new look a lot and I did have a custom banner designed but it just didn’t seem to fit as well as I thought it might. I’m still looking to get a new banner designed but I may leave some of the existing ones up there for now since they actually fit ok with what i’m going for.

The one with the city street actually fits a lot better since I just got back from New York and that picture looks like it could have been taken on one of the streets in New York City. The trip was really fun but also really tiring. Also, right as I got back I got sick and am still trying to shake the cold. One thing i’m going to be doing a lot of is catching up on the good movies that have been / are being released in the past few weeks and the next month or so. On my list to see are: The Incredible Hulk, Wall-E, The Dark Knight, Hellboy 2, Hancock, Get Smart and several others I can’t remember right now.
