SocialSpark has come out of private testing and has gone live such that any blogger can now join the service.
First, some of you might be asking “What is SocialSpark?”. SocialSpark is a paid blogging service where you are paid to offer reviews of other websites or products. The neat thing about SocialSpark is that all of this is search engine compliant through mandatory in-post disclosure and the use of no-follow links. No-follow links mean that search engines will ignore that outgoing link when calculating rankings, such as Google’s PageRank algorithm.
SocialSpark also allows advertisers and bloggers to create their own profiles to tell a little bit about themselves. In fact, I have a profile on the service that contains my basic interests and themes that I blog about which helps advertisers figure out if my blog is right for them. This also helps me to network with other bloggers that have similar interests. I usually think of SocialSpark as the MySpace of paid blogging sites, so these social features fit well with that theme.
The only downsides to the current system are that the bloggers do not have a lot of information available to them as to why they don’t qualify for opportunities and how long the wait times are for the queues. SocialSpark allows you to get in line for an opportunity if the number of posts allocated are used up for the day. This is a large change from the PayPerPost model where you have to jump on the opp as soon as it is posted or else you will not get it.
