Stumble Mondays

i figure this might also become a recurring post I can do every so often (namely on Mondays). Stumble upon has gotten me hooked and it has been sending me to some really cool Youtube videos so I figured i’d throw a few of them in here as well as other ones i’ve found on YouTube along the same theme.

These are videos using high speed photography. This one is a bit hokey but has some really neat shots. I really like seeing how much someone’s face distorts from a simple slap! It is amazing to see the kind of forces involved in something like that.

Below is an example of “what shouldn’t happen” when a car hits a barrier at 40 mph. I don’t think i’ll trust any chinese made cars after seeing this thank you very much!

Another video compilation with some great slow-motion shots. Some of these experiments are repeats of ones in the first video but they were done by different people.

This last video shows an AK-47 being fired in full automatic in slow-motion. It is really neat to see how the spring mechanism utilizes the recoil to load another cartridge. The simple technology in play here is neat (note: i’m not condoning or commenting on the use of guns!).
