The Fate of Tyrlon and other Dubious Things

The following is an ode to the thousands of blogs I have come across who are sitting stale, whose owners have abandoned them.  It is written from the perspective of the blog itself.

“Broken Dreams”

Today I told my last story to the world,
It was about a cat and how funny she was,

My muse had a smile in their eye while they wrote the words I proudly display,
I saw them looking at me to see the post was there before going on their way,

Now I sit, alone and unchanging in the sea of blogs,
My pages laid bare for the world to see in all of their posterity,

I had dreams of greatness once,
Hopes that I now find dashed,
I was going to show the world the way to riches,
Show them how to dance,
Show them how to cook,
Show them how to sing,
Show them how to love,
Show them..
Life.

All that has passed now and my muse has moved on,
I wonder what they’re up to?
Are they happy?  Are they sad?  Do they still remember I exist?

If I had only been read more, perhaps they wouldn’t have forgotten I was there.
Maybe they’d come back if I was Stumbled or Dugg, but then if they truly loved me they’d never have left.

Sometimes i’m so lonely I follow all my outbound links to see what my friends are talking about,
Some days it brings a smile to my heart, but other days I find a friend who has been abandoned as well,
Some days I get a 404, and my heart is saddened at the passing of one who had so much left to tell.

I am so lonely now, I wonder how long i’ll even be around?
Please don’t leave me, I don’t want to sink into the great nothing with nary a sound.
