Recently my Apple iPhone seems to be having some issues and has been crashing about once a week. When I say crashing in this case, i’m referring to the iPhone operating system totally locking up which results in it ignoring all touch screen input and just sitting there looking pretty.
This usually happens on my home screen right after checking e-mail or stocks or weather on my iPhone. The only way I know of to fix it is to reboot the whole device. In case you don’t know, you can force shut down the iPhone by holding down the Home button and the sleep screen button found on the top of the device on the right-hand side. After you hold those buttons down together for 3 seconds or so, it will shut down. To turn it back on you then hit the sleep screen button again once and it should show an Apple logo on the screen to show you it is booting up. The entire process will take about 20 seconds or so to be back up and running.
The thing is, i’ve come to expect Apple products to be fairly rock solid but this is happening more often lately on the phone so i’m wondering if there is a bug in the latest firmware release or if there is just a problem with my hardware. I’ve only had the iPhone since September of 2007 so it’s not terribly old as far as cell phones go. Is anyone else having issues with their iPhone? Feel free to drop me a comment with any suggestions or tips you might have!
