Every week i’m going to try to take some time to look over the Sparks on SocialSpark and take a few to give people honest reviews of their blogs.
One of the ones I’m looking at this week is lifeOmaniac.
The first thing I really like about this blog is how clean and simple the design is, not cluttered up with tons of advertisements like many blogs are. The blog also features some topics dear to my heart (the iPhone, of which I have one) and has some technically oriented content as well related to software.
As you scroll down the site, you see that the main navigation sections and any advertisements are at the bottom. This is an interesting design that you don’t often see, but it works well to highlight the content above all. However, I would reduce the number of posts showing on the main page slightly so that you notice the content at the bottom more quickly. I almost didn’t realize that there were category navigation links or RSS feed sign-ups at the bottom because there were 7 posts on the main page. Another way that might help with this is to use the “read more..” link more often to keep the actual size of the content on the main 7 posts a bit smaller.
Those are just my few thoughts, overall a great site that looks like it has some interesting content!
