I recently was given some information on a website called Zookoda. What is Zookoda? Well first of all its a really catchy name, but what it is is a free e-mail marketing application that you can use to let your blog readers subscribe to receive e-mail updates of your latest blog content!
Main Features
Zookoda also offers the ability to customize the newsletters, send out newsletters to mobile phones and keep track of numerous statistics such as bounce-rates, unsubscribes and click through rates. With these statistics and tools you can keep track of whether you are engaging your audience with your blog content and then tailor it appropriately.
Think of Zookoda as RSS on steroids, since instead of having to open their news reader or RSS website, they can receive updates to your blog in their e-mail. This will engage your readers more because everyone checks their e-mail these days obsessively. When you remind the reader of how awesome your content is, they are more likely to click through and read the posts on your site as well.
I’ve discussed how Zookoda can engage your readers, but how do you get them to sign-up? Zookoda lets you put customized sign-up forms on your website that you can tailor to find what works well with your theme. Using these tools you can be on the path to gaining e-mail subscribers in just a few minutes of your time and the insertion of some code onto your blog.
Scheduled Updates
You can schedule Zookoda to send out updates of the latest content on your blog automatically on a schedule that you pick such as daily, weekly or monthly. With all of these great features you’d think that Zookoda would actually cost your a monthly subscription or a large set fee, but all of it is provided for free as a service to the blogging community!
The Nitty Gritty
Zookoda uses your RSS or atom feed to gather the content together to send out to your e-mail subscribers. It supports RSS v.91, v.92, v1.0, v2.0 and Atom v1.0 and v2.0 as well as OPML and rdf formats.
What about Monetization?
Being able to serve ads inside of the Zookoda e-mails is not currently supported but is a feature that will be added down the road according to the Frequently Asked Questions page. Once they allow you to serve up content-tailored ads in rich HTML alongside your blog content, Zookoda truly will be the premium solution for bloggers everywhere!
