Just was thinking about this today because of someone I was helping out with an issue (I do work in IT after all!) and figured i’d share them with you.
Ctrl+Alt+End = send Ctrl+Alt+Del to a remote desktop session, otherwise you just end up opening the task manager on your local machine!
Windows Key + L = Lock your local machine. This is very useful when you are walking away for a few moments. Locking your machine does NOT log you out, it just makes you re-enter your password to unlock it.
Windows Key + D = Show desktop. This is great when you need to get rid of all of those incriminating windows at work…I mean, when you need to see your desktop for some reason…
Windows Key + E = Open windows explorer.
Windows Key + R = Open the run window. Useful for when you need to quickly get to the remote desktop client (which you get to by then typing “mstsc” sans the quotes into the run window).
Got any more useful key strokes you’d like to share? Feel free to drop a comment with them.
