What a glorious day today is, both in the weather outside and for what it means to all of us who are Christians. The day Jesus rose from the dead after dying on calvary to wash away our sins. What better day could there be?
For me it also holds a special meaning as it represents the day that Lent ends, so that I can partake in whatever I gave up for the last 6 weeks. This year I gave up Caffeine, all desserts, eating out, and purchasing of anything at retail other than Food or toiletries. I am not Catholic, but I think adhering to Lent is a great practice and I have done it every year for the last 8 years or so. It is an exercise in self-control and giving just a tiny thing up to honor the sacrifice Jesus made is a small token of my appreciation.
