If you recall my post about when my Rock Band Drum pedal broke that I followed up with my Temporary Fix for a Broken Rock Band Drum Pedal post, I had to deal with the warranty service from EA to get it replaced. The link to that warranty page can be found in the first link above in case you need that service.
What ended up happening is I ordered a Woodrock Pedal (they are awesome but the guy doing them stopped, guess he got too busy or something) and it showed up a few days later. I had already done the “express” service for warranty where they UPS 2nd Day Air the item to you and you then ship back your broken one using a prepaid shipping label or else you pay a $125 service charge. The problem is, this service is not what I would call “express” by any means. Sure, they gave me a tracking number the first day, but they didn’t actually give the pedal to UPS for over 2 weeks! I finally got the new pedal late last week and promptly shipped the broken one back. So if you do the express service, don’t expect it to be fast if they are backlogged any. I suspect that they had a huge rash of broken pedals around the time I broke mine so they were probably out of replacements for a while but didn’t bother to tell me that.
Thanks for nothing EA! Wish I wouldn’t have even ordered the replacement as with the Woodrock pedal I didn’t even need to replace the broken one anymore since it replaced the plastic part that was broken with a Poplar polished wood piece. Now I have to get that pesky magnet out of the new pedal (TIP: Use really hot water for about 20 minutes from a faucet and you can cause the glue holding the magnet in to lose cohesion as well as cause the plastic to expand some!). It was a decent pain last time to get out and I had my nice Woodrock pedal all setup but now I get to do it again. Maybe I should start a pedal repair service!
