Phew, travelling for work is both fun and tiring at times. It is fun because you aren’t in your normal routine and get to go new places (generally) and do different things.
Had to travel to Asheville to one of our satellite locations to work on an Engineering Lab. It was at a location I had never been to so it was nice to meet some of the people who are “sort of” part my the College I work for but they are part-time or distance only so most people never get to meet them. I sometimes feel that they are really under-appreciated since a lot of them have to travel from Sylva to Asheville all the time to teach and probably don’t get paid anything extra for it. At least when I travel for the College I get gas mileage and food (when the times work out right).
But, the trip wasn’t too bad and I just got back and was able to get a lot of work done. The lab should be in tip top shape next week when the students start using it again. I’ve also decided that Deep Freeze will be going on the machines as soon as possible. When you see things like “World of Warcraft” FREE TRIAL! in the start menu (already installed) you know it is time to lock down the machines since the students obviously aren’t doing much work during class time!
